We want to keep kids reading all year not just in the summer. We have decided to start a new programs. It will be three different groups to hit all ages.

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten | Metropolitan Library System
1,000 Books Before Kindergarten: any child that is not fully enrolled in Kindergarten can sign up for this. We encourage ALL kids even little, little ones. It is never to early to start reading to your child
100 Books before High School – Library Bonanza
100 Books Before High School: any child from Kindergarten-8th grade. We want to keep encouraging them to read.
50 Books Before College: any child from 9th-12th grade.

Any book your child encounters will count towards their goal. This means any book that they read, read to others or is read to them will count towards the goal. This is for all age groups! If someone can not reach the goal that is ok we want them to read as much as they can. We want to make sure everyone has a goal and can reach it. Every child will receive a bookmark, when that bookmark is filled the child can bring it to the library for a prize, new bookmark and for their picture to be taken to hang on the wall.

If you would like to sign your child up for the program please call the Lane County Library and we can get you a packet.
