Book Discussion Group
Meets every 4th Monday to discuss a book
that is chosen by the group.
Discussion is held from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Kid Kapers starts September 9th for children ages 3-5. Sessions are held each Tuesday from 10:00 a.m.-10:30 a.m. The 30 minute program will include stories, music, fingerplays , crafts and other activities.
WEE READERS
Wee Readers starts September 9th for ages o-3 years of age. We request that parents/caregivers stay with their child. Sessions are held each Tuesday from 10:45 a.m.-11:00 a.m. The program will consist of music, stories, fingerplays and more,.
“Catch the Reading Bug” at the Lane County Library. Ages 3 through 4th grade may enroll for a weekly program. Participants will count pages read for prizes awarded throughout the program. Enrollment will be held from May 19-30.
The Lane County Library is under construction. We are happy to report that we are getting a new heating and cooling system. New ceiling and lighting will also be installed during this time. This project will hopfully be completed before summer.
Join Washburn University English Professor Thomas Fox Averill for a discussion of In Cold Blood by Truman Capote. This will be broadcasted from Lawrence Public Library through our Enhanced Meeting Room. The discussion will be held on February 25th @ 7:00 p.m. If you would like a copy of the book please stop at the Lane County Library or call 397-2808 to reserve a copy.
The Lane County Library has a wireless connection which enables a library customer to bring their own laptop or wireless device to the library and use the library’s internet connection from anywhere within the library’s “hotspot”, or the range of the wireless signal. The Wichita Children’s Theatre will preform the musical play, “The Little Red Hen” on Tuesday, October 9, 2007, at 1:15 p.m. at the Dighton High School Auditorium. The Little Red Hen is a nice little lady who is known and loved by all the barnyard animals until she asks, “Who will help me make the bread?” All of her friends are too busy to help her, but when it comes time to eat the delicious bread, they all scramble to her doorway. Well, she has a surprise for them! This is a story about what makes true friendships: WORK.
